A scalar quantization based multiple description image coding (MDSQ) is an effective way to improve the quality of information transfer, the program source code, use of Matlab tools of flexibility in dealing with matrices, implement the MDSQ algorithm, and pass the decoded images show that the method of multiple descriptions of good performance.
